In the annual Wood Whispers contest, three PHS students won first place in Poetry, Art and Photography. Students also won in other categories, winning second, third and honorable mention. The 47th edition of Wood Whispers literary magazine will come out on May 6 and will be available for $5. Books can be bought through Mary Blaker in 323C.

“It’s not just something I took a picture of and then moved on,” Schmidt said of her winning entry. “I took that picture with my family surrounding me. And it was just a moment that has brought a lot of joy to me, and it has a back story. I’ve got tons of photos in my phone; it’s not just one of those. It’s that one.”
