The PHS Players will hold their musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” during sixth through ninth periods on March 20. School show tickets are $5 and will be sold during both lunches and in 211C outside of class time. Ticket sales will begin on March 16 and end at 8 a.m. before the show on Friday. All students interested in attending will eat fifth period lunch and must have a ticket to leave class. Seating will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Additional public performances are March 19, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m and one on March 22 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $6 for students and $12 for adults. The musical is about two hours long. Cell phones are not permitted in the auditorium.
“It’s been a lot of nonstop rehearsals and preparing for rehearsals outside of the school day, like practicing my lines with my family,” said sophomore Zach Gaston, who plays Charlie Brown. “And giving up a lot of my lunch to help work on music with people.”
For all their hard work, the Players ask audience members to be respectful during the performances. Laughing and clapping are encouraged while maintaining theater etiquette.
“I think people should watch the show just to bring back that sense of childlike wonder,” said junior Dorothy Clark, who has the role of Snoopy. “I feel like we tend to be reminiscing that these days and I think that Charlie Brown is just an amazing way to bring all the generations together again for just one amazing performance.”
