Students will fill the horseshoe with decorated trunks and Halloween sweets Monday, Oct. 27 for the annual trunk or treat from 6-7:30 p.m. Community members are invited to bring their kids dressed in their costumes to collect candy from each trunk, sponsored by student groups, clubs and sports teams. Key Club will also provide face painting, cookie decorating and pumpkin painting in addition to handing out candy.
“Key Club really wanted to make this trunk or treat memorable and set it apart from the past ones,” Key Club President Lauren Flanagan said. “Local businesses generously donated pumpkins for this event and we are so excited as it not only benefits our community but also unites all of the clubs at PHS.”
The student groups participating include Key Club, Diversity Student Union, Junior Cabinet, Student Council, Red Wings, National Honor Society, Theatre and Speech and Debate, Senior Women’s and T-Club, JROTC and Robotics.
“I’m looking forward to this annual event that brings together many of our different groups at PHS,” Assistant Principal Kelley Ray said. “It is a really good outreach for our community and it’s nice to see our students having fun and participating in an event like this.”
