Brooklyn Miller, Managing Editor
Brooklyn Miller is a senior and the managing editor for The Journal along with being the editor-in-chief for the Parhischan. She enjoys taking pictures of school events, writing and most importantly, editing. Outside of her time spent in journalism Brooklyn also is a Red Wing and participates in Student Council, Senior Women’s Club, NHS and DSU. The very little amount of free time she gets goes to hanging out with her friends and her mom or doomscrolling Tiktok favoriting recipes she will never make. Brooklyn is excited for her third year on staff and cannot wait to keep sharing the school’s stories.

Catherine Hayes, Editor
Catherine Hayes is a senior, and this is her third year writing for The Journal. She is excited to be editor-in-chief this year. Catherine is involved in a few extracurriculars at PHS and is a member of NHS, NEHS, Senior Women’s Club, the Big Red crew team and Chamber Choir. She also works in the Registrar’s Office at PHS and volunteers at an alpaca farm in her free time. She is an avid reader and writer, and enjoys singing, being outside and getting together with friends whenever she can.

Emma Casto, Editor in Chief
Senior Emma Casto is a third-year staff member and the editor-in-chief of The Journal. She is also involved in NHS, NEHS and Senior Women’s Club. When she’s not at school she is probably reading a book, hanging out with her family or doing community service with her 4-H club. She is a lifelong Taylor Swift fan and is always listening to her music and counting down the days till her new album. She is very excited for this year and cannot wait to write fun and informative stories and to get to know all of the new staff members.

Aubrie Kendall, Social Media Manager
Aubrie Kendall is a senior and this is her third year on staff. Her job as a part of The Journal is not only staff writer, but also social media manager (go follow @phsmedia.wv on Instagram). She is very involved and busy because she is a maniac and cannot keep herself still. She is Student Council vice president, Diversity Student Union vice president, social media manager for Key Club and a member of Senior Women’s Club, along with A Cappella Choir. On the off chance you do see her finally have a break, she is likely hard at work at Mountain State Creamery scooping ice cream. In her spare time she loves to waste gas by driving around while listening to Alice in Chains or Deftones. She is so excited to make so many cool posts for social media and to make the site live up to its potential.

Liliana Parsons, Staff Writer
Liliana Parsons is a junior at Parkersburg High School. This is her second year on the newspaper staff. She is a ballet dancer at the Mid Ohio Valley Ballet Company. When she is not at school or dancing, she is usually sleeping. Liliana also enjoys reviewing and recommending things through writing. Liliana cares a lot about equality and LGBT representation in entertainment.

Gabrielle Rodet, Staff writer
Gabrielle Rodet is a junior and this is her second year on staff. Her favorite things to do are read or watch movies. Her favorite movie is Billy Madison, or really anything with Adam Sandler. But she also likes old movies like East of Eden or A Hard Day’s Night. She loves to listen to Clairo or Jeff Buckley. She loves the beach and if she could live anywhere, she would live in California, close to the beach. In her free time, you can find her scrolling on Pinterest or getting coffee.
