Students who want to experience what it’s like to perform as a member of the Red Wing Drill Team will have the chance to dance at the boys basketball game against Wheeling Park on Tuesday, Feb. 25 after the team’s upcoming workshop on Sunday, Feb. 23. The workshop will take place in the Fieldhouse and costs $30, which includes a T-shirt and snack. Kindergarteners through fifth graders will practice from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and girls in sixth through twelfth grades will practice from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will learn a dance to perform during halftime of the scheduled game on the 25th. The event does not require any dance background and students can participate just for fun.
“The workshop is a perfect chance for girls wanting to know if they would like Red Wings but also for girls who just want to have fun,” junior Red Wing Aubrielle Stone-Plauche said. “They are always so much fun and I love getting to work with other people outside of the team.”
Anyone interested may register by email, by contacting the Red Wing Head Coach Kimberly Griffey at [email protected] with their name, grade and t-shirt size.
