PHS’s chapter of National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 20 new members on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
“I thought the ceremony went very well,” NHS adviser Sandra Butcher said. “Our officers and NHS members did a great job with each of their respective parts.”

“I believe that the future of NHS looks bright with our 20 new inductees,” Butcher said. “I’ve known several of these students since middle school, and I know they will represent this esteemed group well. They are definitely leaders of PHS.”

Catherine Hayes is a senior, and this is her third year writing for The Journal. She is excited to be editor-in-chief this year. Catherine is involved in a few extracurriculars at PHS and is a member of NHS, NEHS, Senior Women’s Club, the Big Red crew team and Chamber Choir. She also works in the Registrar’s Office at PHS and volunteers at an alpaca farm in her free time. She is an avid reader and writer, and enjoys singing, being outside and getting together with friends whenever she can.
