As summer finally approaches, many students find themselves unsure of what to do over the break. Some people don’t have jobs or aren’t able to leave their house. To anyone in that situation, I suggest binge watching shows. Here are just a few of my favorite shows that are easy to get lost in.
“Yellowjackets” is a show not for the faint of heart. The plot revolves around a group of female soccer players after they become stranded in the Canadian wilderness. If cults, cannibalism and psychological horror are someone’s thing, then I recommend they give the show a shot.
The next show I recommend has been around since 1997, giving it tons of binge-worthy material. With 26 seasons and 327 episodes, “South Park” is an animated comedy that is bound to make any viewer laugh. The show contains an interesting cast of characters and multiple different styles of episodes, so everyone can find something they like in “South Park.”
If viewers prefer to cry rather than laugh, “Alice in Borderland” is the show for them. The show follows main character Arisu after he and his friends suddenly find that everyone around them has disappeared. They’re forced to compete in deadly games in order to stay alive, meeting odd people and discovering clues of how the world ended up so strange along the way. Fans of the “Saw” movie franchise, Squid Games, and apocalypse scenarios will most likely enjoy this series.
My all-time favorite television show is “Arcane.” The series was based on the video game, “League of Legends,” but adapted to just focus on a few characters. The show expands on the origin stories of two separated sisters. It tackles subjects such as grief, mental illness, drug use and more. I’ve watched the show several times. Every time I watch it, I notice new, exciting details. With a new season currently in the works, I definitely recommend “Arcane.”
Watching shows can be a fun way to pass the time. Whether that be alone or with friends, the world of television can be a great experience to help you pass the time this summer.
