A leader throughout, senior Ashlynn Eagle takes on the task of 2024 class president while staying true to her beginnings. She participates in leading at her church, National Honor Society, Senior Woman’s Club and is on the volleyball team.
Eagle is the 2024 senior class president. Her class has had many of their high school years shut down due to COVID-19. Eagle expressed that this year has opened up many activities school wide. This has been her mission, to bring school spirit back.
“So, this year we have finally been opened up to really everything again and I was just super excited to bring the spirit back and enjoy fun activities with my class,” said Eagle.
Class president comes with fun and stress. A class president has to attempt to please their peers in every aspect. A main goal for the year is to bring back the fun parts of school to benefit not only the senior class but the student body as a whole.
“Having fun at school is a thing. You can enjoy high school and I don’t think a lot of our past classes have had an opportunity to do that and so I’m trying to bring all the fun things back so that everybody can not just get through the day but really want to be with their friends and come to school,” said Eagle.
Eagle has been playing volleyball since fourth grade. She started in recreational leagues and continued into middle school. Now, she plays for the PHS volleyball team.
“My parents have played volleyball literally since I was born, they played in a local rec league. So, I’ve grown up in that environment. So, I wanted to play it with myself,” said Eagle.
She is also an active member at her church. Eagle has attended church since she was young. She serves at The Warehouse Church and has had the opportunity to speak and sing with the veteran leaders.
“I look forward to seeing the wonderful people there and getting a chance to grow in my faith,” said Eagle.
Eagle maintains a 3.8 GPA and plans on continuing her schooling. She plans on attending WVUP to grow her science credits then WVU for orthodontics. Her motivation to keep going is in her faith which gives her confidence to always be kind to others.
“My family has always believed in God and I have grown up in that and having that confidence that He’s in control. There’s always love to give so that’s my reason to keep going,” Eagle said.
