This week, homecoming events are turning the halls pink, between the hallway decoration competition on Wednesday, Sept. 27, the door decoration competition on Thursday, Sept. 28 for advisory classes, and a Barbie-themed spirit week. Student Council has put together a spirit week plan using Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse as the theme.
Themes for each day are:
Monday- Sleepover Barbie. Students wear pajamas to school.
Tuesday- Malibu Barbie. Students will wear their vacation getup.
Wednesday- Pink Out! Students put as much pink into their outfit as they can.
Thursday- Career Barbie. Students dress for their dream job.
Friday- Spirit Barbie. School spirit day, students wear red and white.
On Friday, Sept. 29, homecoming events will take up the day between the thuse, parade, and football game. The thuse will be at the end of the school day in the stadium. At the thuse, hallway and door decorating contest winners will be announced, fall teams will be introduced, and there will be a cheer off between the classes, according to Student Council adviser Megan Ashcraft. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and will start at City Park and travel up Washington Avenue towards PHS. Immediately following the parade, the kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. for the homecoming game. During halftime, the king and queen will be crowned. On Saturday, Sept. 30, the dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. for all students wishing to attend. Tickets for the homecoming dance are on sale for $10 each and will be sold in the main halfway during both lunches and before school.
